Planning a destination wedding in France offers a level of elegance and romanticism that is hard to match. We recently had the absolute pleasure of performing for Damien and Lee’s extraordinarily unique wedding at a stunning historic French chateau. From custom song choices to unexpected fashion moments, it was a celebration to remember.
A Unique Ceremony & A “WOW” Fashion Moment
Damien and Lee had a clear, distinct vision for their special day, and every detail reflected their personality. Los Amigos performed live as a duo during the ceremony, playing custom-selected songs chosen by the couple to accompany a truly elegant entrance.
The highlight? The bride completely broke tradition with her attire. Stepping out from behind a massive pink curtain hanging from the chateau’s facade, she revealed a stunning kiwi-green wedding dress with a dramatic long train—creating an unforgettable “WOW” moment for everyone in attendance.
To ensure all guests were fully present in the moment, the couple opted for an unplugged ceremony, with phones collected beforehand. It created an incredible, distraction-free atmosphere for everyone to connect deeply with the celebration.

From Ceremony to Cocktail Hour
As the ceremony concluded, we led the guests around to the rear of the chateau, where shady garden spots provided a welcome escape to enjoy canapés and champagne.
We kept the energy high with live music during the cocktail hour, which even inspired some impromptu guest dancing on the lawn! (Fun fact: The venue had actually requested no dancing due to local sound restrictions and neighbor considerations, but the festive spirit won out safely within their limits!)

Pro-Tip for Summer Weddings in France (and Southern Europe)
This summer has brought intense heat waves across Europe, and France was no exception, hitting 36°C (97°F) at 4:00 PM during the ceremony.
Our top recommendation for summer destination weddings:
- Adjust your timings: Consider pushing your ceremony start time later into the evening when the sun begins to cool down.
- Keep guests comfortable: Always provide shade, parasols, handheld fans, and plenty of cold water or welcome drinks for your guests.
